new tooling

  • VS Code Alive extension - Using it for Lisp development in VS Code. I'm happy with it, though I'm sure emacs and SLIME are even better.
  • Vimium Chrome extension - Vim bindings in Chrome. It sounds tacky, but it's not. My favorite uses are:
    • f - display char combos for each link on a page, type the char combo to click the link
    • j/k - scroll up/down
    • H / L - forward/backward in history
  • Contexts - Navigate to open apps with Cmd-1, Cmd-2, etc. I downloaded this today and I'm liking it a lot.
  • Obsidian - Note taking app. I'm a little embarrassed to be using a new note-taking app AGAIN but it's great. What I like so far: Daily notes, ease of Cmd-O to open/create a note, extensions like recent files, also Vim bindings, particularly for my todo list since I put all my todos in one file.
  • Catpuccin - theme for both Obsidian and VS Code.
