you don't need to look good all the time
Okay, look, I see the argument for the contrary. I do resonate with "look good, feel good". There is an ease and confidence when you are dressed to the nines. And I have experienced that when you hold yourself to excellence in one area of your life (especially something as visible as presentation), it tends to carry over to the other areas. So I get it.
Still, I heard an extreme minimalist Youtuber say "you don't need to look good all the time" and that resonated with me just as much.

It felt good to have this stranger say it was OK to not look good all the time. While grooming is important, but perhaps looksmaxxing is not. Perhaps I can wear my pajamas to the grocery store and it's not a moral failing. And I can save a little by passing on some skincare products.
In my opinion, it comes down to what you enjoy and what you value. In this era, I value simplicity a lot. So I want to look put together and feel secure, but I don't need more than that.
I realize this feels at odds with my post on skincare but you can't blog daily without contradicting yourself.
